Steve Rickard
Steve is the kind of pastor that becomes like part of the family. He is the head pastor here at Accelerate Church. One of the reasons why people love Pastor Steve so much is because he is passionate about helping them grow and reach their full potential in life. His heart of love shines through in everything he does, whether teaching a message, talking with a child or leading his staff. Jessi Baca
Jessi has a beautiful, comforting smile that speaks volumes of the love of Christ! She serves as a Momentum Youth Pastor at Accelerate, along with her husband, Kainan. Any of the teens that are in the youth group know that she has a great amount of love and care for them. Creative and relevant messages, fun and exciting games, unique and memorable events…all these things are characteristic of Jessi! She was born and raised in Ontario, Canada by parents who taught her good work ethic and business skills through involving her in the family business throughout her childhood. At four years old, she made Jesus her Savior while listening to a very powerful preacher…”Gospel Duck”! Her parents demonstrated what it means to have a life sold out to God, and they supported her in answering the call to ministry and moving to Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. While at Rhema, a motorcycle dude pulled up alongside her one day. She was awestruck by this cute (but very cool) ministry student and she has never left his side since! She and Kainan have 2 little daughters, Parker and Addison! During her free time she likes to do a little thing that most women love… shopping! While at home, she might take in an episode of Project Runway or play cards with her hubby. FavoritesBook: Anything by Terri Blackstock Food: Fried Rice Snack Food: Cheese Cake Movie: How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Last Samurai TV Show: Bones, Project Runway, and Master Chef Musical Artists: Newsboys Actor: Johnny Depp and Bruce Willis Actress: I don’t have one in particular. My Dad is always smiling and positive no matter what situation he is in. He has always been there for me, whether it’s a call in the middle of the night or supporting a decision I made. And my mom because she will follow her husband to the end of the earth and is willing to give up almost anything for me. Many times she has dropped everything and driven or flown hours to be with me in some crazy times. They are definitely my heroes. One of My Greatest Experiences with God: I once went with a few young adults from an old church to a large event that was basically a two day prayer event for our country. I was very timid, but I refused to leave there the same way I came, and the presence of God was so strong that after about an hour I was so immersed in Him that I forgot everything around me. That was the first time I entered into such a strong and intimate time of worship with Him. And this began my love for hanging out with Him in worship, dancing like a fool, and singing at the top of my tone deaf voice. One other sweet experience would just be adventures with Him. Mostly starting with leaving my beloved Canada and everything I knew to follow Him and go to Rhema. This lead to many other adventures of trusting and following Him which quickly lead me to my husband and coming here to the best church in the world, Accelerate Church. If you like adventure, God is definitely the one to follow. Most People Don’t Know This About Me: My dad owned a karate school, so I did karate since I was three years old and did it for 18 years. |
